Developers, contractors, and other residents looking to deliver building plans or secure permits can look forward to a revamped online process, set to launch on March 25. The Plan Review and Tracking Version 2, now in testing, will make it easier for users to submit designs, follow the City’s review process, and secure permits online.
A collection of City departments, led by the Information Technology Department’s Application Development team, built this new software based on public and internal staff input.
“Once launched, these changes will improve how our City handles plan submissions and reviews,” said Chief Information Officer with IT Department Rodney Roberts. “This release will make the process more intuitive, flexible, and user-oriented, which will foster a more collaborative and transparent relationship between the City departments and the community.”
Users will continue to access the application through the City’s Development Services webpage. Some of the new application’s highlights include:
- A simplified initial question to start the submission process.
- Streamlined 'Add Plan Contacts' pages and the ability to submit plans for addresses beyond the city limits.
- Redesigned submission paths for specific plans, ensuring a tailored experience for commercial- and residential-building plans, fire permits, and more.
- New submission paths for specific plans like fire construction permits and landscape plans.
- The addition of an FAQ page, helpful document links, and an improved form for user support.
