The City of Greensboro Solid Waste Transfer Station is not accepting waste from private haulers for the remainder of , January 18, and, January 19, due to limited capacity to unload incoming trucks. Private haulers should choose a backup location for waste disposal. This does not impact residential or commercial waste collected by the City of Greensboro trucks.

The limited capacity is the result of a backup at the privately-operated landfill the City of Greensboro contracts with for waste disposal. That facility had a mechanical problem with the unloading equipment.

Customers with only construction and demolition waste can use the White Street Landfill, 2503 White St. Operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7:50 am to 4:50 pm, and Saturday, 7 am to 1 pm. Call the landfill at 336-373-7658 if you have questions on location or the type of waste that can be brought there.

The Great Oak Landfill (GOLF), 3597 Old Cedar Falls Rd., Randleman, will accept municipal solid waste (household, commercial and industrial trash) from regular users of the City of Greensboro’s transfer station. GOLF is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 5 pm, and on Saturday, 7:30 am to 12 pm. GOLF only accepts credit/debit cards and pre-established credit accounts for payment; no cash payments. Call the landfill at 336-628-6026 if you have questions.
