Library Hosts Book Lovers Social and Author Jill McCorkle January 27

Meet some famous authors and fellow book lovers at the Greensboro Public Library’s 15th Annual Book Lovers Social and Meet an Author Day from 1-4:30 pm, Saturday, January 27 at Central Library, 219 N. Church St. This is an annual celebration of books and reading with appearances by multiple well-known authors.

From 1-3:30 pm, participants can meet over a dozen regional authors, enjoy refreshments and vote for their favorite reads of 2023 and new books for 2024. At 3:30 pm featured author, Jill McCorkle, will be celebrating the release of her new book, Old Crimes, in conversation with senior editor of Algonquin Books, Kathy Pories. They will share insights into the editor/author process and be on hand to sign books and answer questions from the audience.

Authors of Young Adult and Children’s fiction scheduled to attend include: Alison Levy, Magic by Any Other Name (The Witch's Odyssey Book One); Eliot D. Esparza, My Mind Is Not Yours: Welcome to Tarot Tori City; Frank Morelli, Breaking News and On the Way to Birdland; Dr. Nicole Hayes, There’s Gray Hair in My Puffballs!; Michelle Lucas, Michelle & The High-Heeled Rainbow Platform Shoes.

Non-Fiction authors scheduled to attend include: Derek Gibson, Data Duped: How to Avoid Being Hoodwinked by Misinformation; Porter Halyburton, Reflections on Captivity; Julia Ebel, Max Woody, Chair Maker: A Legacy in Wood.
Fiction authors planning to attend include: Gene Klann, The Iconic Warrior: The Genesis of a Fighting Soldier; Jamie Lisa Forbes, Eden; Jill McCorkle, Old

Crimes; Sarah Glover, Plotless: A Coming-of-Middle-Age Story; Bobbie Black, Toofarnyoxable.
