Chamreece Diggs Named North Carolina Recreation and Parks Association President

Greensboro Parks and Recreation Special Programs Superintendent Chamreece Diggs was inducted as president for the North Carolina Recreation and Parks Association (NCRPA), a statewide organization for parks and recreation professionals.

Diggs, a certified Parks and Recreation Professional, has working for the City of Greensboro since 2017, supervising recreation centers, planning special events, creating unique programs, and supporting marketing efforts. She was recently promoted to oversee the department’s Special Programs Section, which includes active adult programming and centers, adaptive and inclusive recreation, aquatics, and the Greensboro Youth Council.

Prior to working in Greensboro, she served with the City of High Point and Guilford County Parks and Recreation Departments in various roles. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Performance, Leisure Services and Recreation Administration from North Carolina A&T State University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Diggs’ term as president is a three-year commitment. She served as president elect this past year and will serve as past president next year. She also served as board member for professional development and on various committees.

Founded in 1944, NCRPA is the premier nonprofit education and advocacy organization dedicated to the advancement of the park, recreation and leisure professions in North Carolina. The organization currently has more than 5,200 members.
