At its October 30 meeting, the AdvanceNC Executive Committee unanimously approved GuilfordWorks to join as a Partner Member. AdvanceNC is a collaborative group of community colleges, universities, and workforce partners in central North Carolina working with employer stakeholders to support the development of a robust talent pipeline serving the regional manufacturing community.
AdvanceNC’s mission is to align the strengths of regional community colleges and collaborate with the associated workforce ecosystem to respond to major manufacturing employer workforce demands and support economic growth in central North Carolina.
“Because of the thousands of jobs that are expected to be filled in and around Guilford County within the next five years, GuilfordWorks’ participation in this collaborative makes perfect sense. We have been at the table with many of the employers who have landed and expanded their operations in our area, and we are actively supporting them with their recruitment processes,” said Dr. Danielle Harrison, GuilfordWorks executive director. “Together, with two of our key partners, NC A&T State University and Guilford Technical Community College, we will collectively create talent pipelines for individuals, whether they are recipients of certifications, two-year, and or four-year degrees, that lead to high-wage employment.”
GuilfordWorks joins the following workforce development boards as Partner Members: Capital Area WDB, Durham WDB, Kerr-Tar WDB, Lumber River WDB, Mid-Carolina WDB and Piedmont Triad Regional WDB. Locally, GuilfordWorks joins both GTCC and NC A&T State University as members.
