Nonprofit, community-based organizations interested in violence intervention are urged to complete a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a new City program.

The program and RFP are called Community Violence Intervention and Interruption Project, and both are sponsored by the City’s Office of Community Safety (OCS). The City is soliciting proposals from qualified organizations to implement the project. Groups will work with OCS' violence prevention coordinator to develop this comprehensive program.

Application deadline for the RFP is Thursday, October 31. Access the RFP online here. In the “Open Events” box in the lower right corner of the Web page, double-click on the “Community Violence Intervention & Interruption Project.”

Interested in learning more? Attend a meeting from 6-8 pm Thursday, October 5, at Peeler Recreation Center, 1300 Sykes Ave. City staff will be available to field questions about the project and the RFP process.
