The City of Greensboro has launched a new public survey tool to better understand residents’ satisfaction on a wide range of City services and quality of life. The tool will enable the City to better understand neighborhood issues and enhance its responsiveness to community priorities.
The five-minute survey asks residents to rate their experience with various aspects of life in Greensboro, including affordable housing, education, transportation and public safety. The survey will be available through the end of October.
Printed surveys will be available at libraries. The survey will also appear to residents through the use of digital ads on various social media platforms. It will be available in multiple languages.
“We value input from our residents and this partnership with Zencity will help us to better understand the needs and concerns of our residents to make the best decisions for the future of our city,” said Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan.
Since 2019, the City of Greensboro has worked with Zencity to better understand the feedback residents are already voicing about important issues – whether on publicly available social media channels, blogs or comments on traditional news sources – helping the city to hear from all corners of the community.
“We have conducted surveys before, but Zencity has a much broader, more representative reach into our communities by putting the survey on the apps our residents use most,” said City Manager Tai Jaiyeoba.
“I applaud forward-thinking leaders like Mayor Vaughan and City Manager Jaiyeoba who understand effective local government must leverage data on the needs and priorities of residents,” said ZenCity CEO Eyal Feder-Levy. “Zencity is proud to provide a platform for cities like Greensboro to reach more voices in the community and turn that input into action.”
This survey will help Greensboro stay on top of emerging local issues, better understand the challenges and priorities of those less likely to participate in traditional civic forums, and meaningfully contribute to the local conversation with timely and informative communications.
Zencity ensures the security and privacy of its data and survey respondents. Survey responses are anonymous unless a respondent chooses to share an email address for follow-up purposes. Zencity does not collect names, addresses, or any other personally-identifying information.
