Changes have been made to the City’s recently launched Neighborhood Toolbox Tool Lending Center due to its overwhelming participation.

Residents wanting to make some repairs around their homes or work with neighbors on a community project now must pick up and return borrowed tools and equipment during these days and times:

11 am to 1 pm Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Greensboro Sportsplex parking lot, 2400 16th St.

City delivery of tools and equipment is no longer offered. The program does not operate on City-recognized holidays.

The Neighborhood Toolbox, which began taking reservations for loans one month ago, remains free of charge.

Also new to the program is the use of one Lending Request Form, regardless if your project is personal or a group project.

Learn more about the updated program at www.greensboro-nc.gov/Toolbox. On that Web page, you will find:

  • FAQs about how the program works
  • A list of tools and equipment available for your project
  • The Toolbox Lending Program Request Form.
Once your Lending Request Form has been received by the City, a Neighborhood Toolbox team member will contact you to make the necessary arrangements.

When you pick up your tool(s) and equipment, show your NC-issued identification and proof of Greensboro residency.

This tool-lending program is available for non-commercial purposes to people living within Greensboro city limits.
