The Greensboro Fire Department (GFD) will be participating in the statewide “Smoke Alarm Saturday” campaign on Saturday, June 3. Every Greensboro Fire Department company and crew will participate in this event with the goal of installing close to 200 smoke alarms in a single day in the city. Companies will canvass the neighborhoods they serve from 10 am until 2 pm with a goal of at least five smoke alarms per company.
Join GFD at Firefighter Friday at Barber Park from 10 am to 2 pm on June 2 to kick off “Smoke Alarm Saturday.” Coloring books, water games, fire trucks, hotdogs, and much more will be provided to our community. The Office of the State Fire Marshal will make a guest appearance at 11:30 am to welcome our North Carolina Fire Departments into “Smoke Alarm Saturday.”
