The Piedmont Environmental Center will conduct routine controlled burns over the next ten days. This is a routine land management practice done by professionals and will not effect people using the Bicentennial Greenway at Gibson Park.
This is a regular event for them that is done in the wooded area along the Greenway stretch between mile markers 2-2.5 (which is in the stretch from East Fork Road and Sunnyvale Utility access). This is done to control hard woods growth and promote a more sustainable environment for the Lob-Lolly Pines that grow in this section of their land.
