January 30, 2023 marks SAMHSA’s 19th Prevention Day!
In honor of Prevention Day, Guilford County Continuum of Care would like to highlight the work being done by one of our community partners, GCSTOP.
Guilford County Solution to the Opioid Problem (GCSTOP) is a partnership between Guilford County Emergency Services and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for the purpose of addressing the County’s increasing incidence of opioid overdoses and opioid related deaths. Through education and outreach, the GCSTOP Team engages participants with harm reduction practices, distributes and trains community members on the use of naloxone, coordinates resources with other community partners, and operates mobile and fixed-site syringe services programs (SSP).
