Guilford County Parks Hosts Virtual Hiring Event March 23 & 26

Guilford County issued the following announcement on Mar. 3.

Guilford County Parks is hiring hourly summer staff for Bur-Mil Park, Gibson Park, Hagan-Stone Park, Northeast Park, Southwest Park and the Passive Parks & Trails team, starting hourly rate is $15 per hour. Available positions include Parks Attendants, Parks Cashiers, and Parks Events Host. Virtual interviews will take place Wednesday, March 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Applicants must apply for vacant positions online at http://agency.governmentjobs.com/guilfordnc/default.cfm to attend the hiring event.

These are great opportunities for teens, college students, teachers and other professionals seeking part-time summer employment, retirees, and everyone who wants to make a positive contribution to the parks. Working with the parks is perfect for those who love the outdoors and are interested in pursuing a career in outdoor recreation.

Park Attendants (Parks Ground Tech Asst.) works to maintain the grounds for the parks and public areas of the town.

Parks Cashiers perform work to receive and disburse money which usually involves the use of cash registers and processing credit or debit card transactions and validating payments. Work includes greeting patrons and being able to adequately answer patron inquiries.

Parks Events Host (Northeast Park or Bur-Mil Park) assists customers who are renting the facility by providing additional tables and/or chairs, communicating rules and regulations that may affect the safety of participants or the facility, and providing answers to any questions about the facility, or surrounding areas.
