Guilford County Offering Pfizer Booster Doses by Appointment Only

Vaccination

Guilford County issued the following announcement on Oct.1.

The Guilford County Division of Public Health (GCDPH) is currently offering Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine booster doses at all GCDPH community, mobile and Health Department locations to eligible community members who have been fully vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine for six months or more.

Eligible community members include:

  • Individuals aged 65 years or older
  • Individuals 18 years or older who:
    • Live or work in a nursing home or long-term care residential facility
    • Live or work in a congregate living facility (homeless shelters, correctional facilities, dormitories, etc.)
    • Have a medical condition that puts you at high risk for severe illness
    • Work in a high-risk profession (health care workers, first responders, teachers, etc.)
Pfizer booster doses are available by appointment only and may be scheduled:

  • Online at www.GuilfordVaccination.com
  • By Phone at 336-641-7944
Community members who register for a Pfizer booster dose appointment should bring their vaccination card to their appointment or be able to verify the dates of their original vaccination and confirm that they received the Pfizer vaccine.

The GCDPH continues to accept walk-ins for all first dose COVID-19 vaccine appointments and appointments only for all ‘additional dose’ COVID-19 vaccinations for those who are immunocompromised. Additional doses are only available for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

Community members who were vaccinated through the GCDPH may obtain a copy of their COVID vaccination record online at covid-vaccine-portal.ncdhhs.gov. If you were not vaccinated at a GCDPH clinic, please contact the vaccination provider directly.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have authorized and recommended booster doses for the Pfizer vaccine only. Individuals who received the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines should continue to monitor local media for developments regarding a booster dose.
