True or false: “Eating for two” means you can eat twice as much food while you’re pregnant

True or false:  “Eating for two” means you can eat twice as much food while you’re pregnant.  Definitely false!  Most expectant moms need about 300 extra calories a day.  That’s about the amount of calories in a cup of milk, a small apple, and a slice of whole-wheat bread.  For more info about eating healthy while pregnant, see your WIC nutritionist.

The Guilford County WIC Program is now issuing Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) coupons.  You can use the FMNP coupons to buy fruits and vegetables at authorized local farmers’ markets.  Pregnant, postpartum women, and children ages 2 through 4 who are active on WIC are eligible to receive $30 worth of coupons.  Give your WIC office a call if you are interested.  336-641-3214 (Greensboro) 336-641-7571 (High Point) For more information, visit our website www.guilfordcountync.gov/wic.

Use your FMNP coupons to eat healthy during your pregnancy!
