3rd Quarter Difference in Women's Basketball Defeat

The Guilford Women's Basketball hosted the Washington and Lee Generals. A highly contested game between both sides, despite the battle from the Quakers, they ultimately fell 79-72.

The game started out with the Generals and Quakers trading buckets back-and-forth. Off the tip, Guilford brought its full-court press and ended up forcing two 10-second violations for the Generals.

The Quakers shot 41.7% from the field in the first to keep them in the game then struggled shooting in the second.

GC managed to go on a run at the end of the first half to go up six before the Generals hit a buzzer-beater three to stay within three (36-33) at the half.

Washington and Lee started off the second half strong by getting stops on the defensive end and making layups and jumpers to find themselves in the lead. The Generals went 11-13 (84.6%) from the field in the third to lead 60-53.

In the fourth, Guilford was able to cut the lead down to five, 72-67, but still could not gain the lead. The ending minutes were intense with multiple jump ball calls to switch possessions to give the Quakers a chance but they were unable to convert. The visitors went on to win by seven.

Lindsay Gauldin led Guilford with 17 points, four rebounds, and one steal as Carleigh Perry added 14 points. GC forced 27 turnovers on the day and converted them into 25 points.
