The Greensboro Virus Relief Taskforce recently awarded approximately $350,000 to 18 area nonprofits bringing its total awards $1.3 million to help community members struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since the United Way of Greater Greensboro created the relief taskforce, along with the city and the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, 58 area nonprofits have received COVID-19 funding support impacted residents, the United Way of Greater Greensboro said in a news release in mid-April.
The relief taskforce, though, is not resting on its fund-raising accomplishments. The United Way said the plan is to raise an additional $2 million to continue support efforts.
