There were two companies in cities associated with Guilford County that received FDA citations as a result of two inspections conducted in the county over the third quarter of 2025, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

This is unchanged from the number of companies cited in the previous quarter.

The citations in the county include:

  • You did not conduct, or have conducted for you, a hazard analysis to determine whether there are food safety hazards that are reasonably likely to occur for each kind of fish and fishery product you process.
  • You are not maintaining sanitation control records that document monitoring and corrections of sanitation deficiencies for safety of water that comes into contact with food or food contact surfaces, including water used to manufacture ice, prevention of cross-contamination from insanitary objects, maintenance of hand washing, hand sanitizing, and toilet facilities, protection of food, food packaging material, and food contact surfaces from adulteration, proper labeling, storage and use of toxic chemicals, control of employee health conditions and exclusion of pests.
  • The responsibilities and procedures applicable to the quality control unit are not fully followed.

Both companies cited should take voluntary actions to correct their managing operations.

The FDA routinely inspects facilities across the nation to determine if the workplace and their products are compliant with FDA-regulated laws and regulations implemented to improve overall public health. Inspection results are then disclosed publicly.

According to its website, the FDA is a government agency that is primarily responsible for monitoring the production and distribution of human and animal drugs, biological products, medical supplies and tobacco products for safety and quality.
